Some amount of stress is good for us. In spite of that we make too much of the concept of stress. We think we are stressed out – and we believe that stress always adversely affects us. This one-sided argument about the negative effects of stress started with a respected scientist called Hans Selye whose research on stress was majorly funded by tobacco companies.
